Evenin' Ladies & Gents,
I've just enabled the RSS functionality within vBulletin on the MPUK Forums, on a provisional basis. We'll be keeping an eye on the load it puts on the server over the coming days/weeks, and will make changes to the settings (or revoke the service) as appropriate.
Currently, it will display the last 15 threads, from the last 30 days and results will be cached for 60 minutes (the defaults).
You can find it located at:
- For 'New Posts': http://forums.multiplay.co.uk/external.php?type=RSS2
- For 'Last Posts': http://forums.multiplay.co.uk/extern...&lastpost=true
In addition, if you would like to filter specifically by forum, you can also achieve this by adding the following to your URL: &forumids=1,2,3 (where 1,2 & 3 are the numerical forum id's you would like). Eg, General Chat = 61, Rants & Raves = 67. Put your mouse pointer over the name of the forum on the main index and look in the status bar to find the id you require.
- Posts in General Chat & Rants/Raves: http://forums.multiplay.co.uk/extern...forumids=61,67
I've also made a button for those of you who use Internet Explorer and the Google Toolbar (sorry Firefox users, Google Toolbar for FF doesn't support buttons... yet? ).
It allows you to search the forums from the Toolbar, as well as having the option to highlight text on a webpage and then click the button to search. In addition to this it also has a drop down which contains the 15 most recently active threads. Just clicking the button with no text will take you to the main forum index.
Click the following to add the MPUK Forums Search to your Google Toolbar!
It's fairly simple, and as such you shouldn't have any problems with it. If you do however, your feedback below would be appreciated
Happy New Year,
