Unhappy Flan's Plane Mod FTP Help?

    Hey guys,
I'm trying to install the Planes Mod found in this forum post:
[1.7.3] ModLoaderMP for CraftBukkit and Canary. Supported Mods: Flan's: [ALL], SDK's: [ALL], Alblaka's: [IndustrialCraft], Balkan's: [Weapons] - Minecraft Forum

And it is supposed to work with bukkit, so I attempt to install it into the minecraft_server.jar, as instructed and launch the sever.
But the server never launches, it stays stopped, almost like its saying "nope! cant do that, you've modded this file".

I'm sure I've done everything right, copying all the .class files into the net/minecraft/server folder, deleting meta-inf and adding the properties and txt file into the server folder, but nothing happens, the server just doesn't start.

Can anyone help? I've asked multiplay support and they said while they (understandably) don't provide support for these kind of mods, there is no reason why it shouldn't work

As you said we can't support installing the mod, but also a warning to you and anyone else that once it's installed we won't be able to support any issues you have with your service either until you restore it to default. Just the way it goes, mods are even more unstable than plugins.

Ah lol i didnt know there was a difference between mods and plugins :P
Thanks for the info, I've got backups of the files im trying to edit on my computer so if anything does go wrong, they can easily be restored
That's why my post wasnt "oh god ive tried this mod and it wont work and now ive ruined my server!" hehe.

I've managed to get this installed and for the most part working, but what I have noticed is that the planes currently don't work, meaning you can craft all the parts, and even put the plane down, but you're unable to drive it, or destroy it. Looking on Flans page about the planes mod, it does clearly state:
Planes v15 improves the control of the planes, but does not have SMP support yet. Please give some feedback about the new controls, whether you like them or hate them.

First off, I copied everything from Itemcraft's jar into Craftbukkit's jar, then I grabbed flans planes mod and pasted all of the files in the zip into /net/minecraft/server within craftbukkit's jar. Before copying the files from flans planes mod into Craftbukkit's jar, first run the server once so ItemCraft can create the required folders and files.

    Links used:
    Planes SMP
    ItemCraft

Okay sounds easy enough, i was trying to use modloaderMP and not itemcraft, whch i didnt know about till now.
When you say craftbukkit's jar, what do you mean? i can only find minecraft_server.jar, which is the file ive been editing, i didn't know craftbukkit had its own.

On multiplays server, craftbukkit = minecraft_server

Just make sure your profile is set to bukkit via ClanForge
