    Discounts and accounts

    Hi

Have a question about discounts and assigning tickets etc. First year we went it was on the old ticket system the next time was on the new system and we had one person buy all the tickets, because of all the hassle he didn't assign the tickets to separate people we just left them in his name.

So this time someone else is going to get all the tickets.

    So questions are:
How do we make sure each person gets another step toward gold discount and how once I have bought all the tickets do I assign them out to each person?

I think there was a guide for this at one point but not sure where it is now.

    Cheers

    Tom

Contact support, they probably need to do some back office work for this.

Thanks for that link, I knew there was a support page but couldn't see anything useful on the main insomnia site. I logged a ticket on that one and it just sends it to ticket factory.

I will post with any updates if they are of any use

    Cheers

    hey paper

To make sure everyone who attends gets the event added to there loyalty level they will indeed need to have the ticket assigned to their own account.

To do this they will need to get the person who purchased the tickets to log into the seat picker and follow the assign tickets part of the linked guide below:

Hi thanks for that. The guide really helps, it says I need to put a nickname in, is this a ticket factory nickname or a multiplay nickname?

Also what do we do about the last event we went to that we didn't assign properly?

I got a reply from mutiplay support saying that they no longer deal with event problems so I need to use the form on the main site that just seems to link to ticket factory. I have sent TF a ticket as well but haven't had anything back yet.

    Cheers

interesting response from Ticket Factory, not an answer to the question I asked but I have gone back on that, they are saying the Earlybird is better than the loyalty discount.

"I can confirm that the loyalty discount is not applicable on the early bird tickets and these must be booked before the 1st December, the early bird offer is better than the loyalty discount, I would advise booking in the early bird."

is this true? if so whats the point of the loyalty discount?

    Cheers

Loyalty discounts *for instance Gold* give you an upgrade to early access, so if you buy an early bird BYOC normal, you'll get your early access for free...iirc.

Originally there were loyalty discounts, created to reward regular attendees. This system was good, and people enjoyed their discount.

Then the mighty lord Wizzo realised that if he could confirm certain numbers of people for an event early enough, it significantly helped with event organisation (for example attraction of exhibitors and sponsors).

And lo, he did wave his mighty samsung wang and the early bird discount was born. But verily the people did proclaim WAIT, what about us loyal customers? For we are special snowflakes and must be courted carefully lest you invoke a terrible lan disaster.

Wizzo thought upon the problem and again with a wave of his mighty samsung wang the most loyal, gold, customers were granted access of an earlier kind for no further payment should they confirm attendance during the early bird period.

And so the townsfolk were happy and the lan continued.

Years passed and the mighty lord Wizzo did try a number of other promotions including gratuitous tickets upon the purchase of 100 roffle tickets and even the occasional "Earliest bird" discount, but with the coming of the Corporate Overlord many of these innovations fell by the wayside, as many seeds scattered upon the hard ground.

And so we come now to the current times, where in tickets are now produced via a mass corporate factory, a system that can take the simplest of loyalty rewards and reign down confusion amongst the populace. The access of an earlier kind has been rechristened with a name to cause maximum confusion with those tickets for the true pleblian masses of those who cannot bring their own knightly equipment unto the Lan, however the reward granted to those of golden loyalty does persist and verily, they are now diamond.

    Any further questions?

    Hi Henners.

thanks for the awesome response, not only was it very informative but also entertaining

so Ticket factory weren't quite right in what they said, no surprise.

    one last response from TF

"The membership scheme is changing at the end of this year and the details are not yet confirmed. I would advise waiting to hear from Multiplay regarding the new details as at the moment we are not aware to how this is changing."

so the system will be changing?

all I wanted was to get one event added to 3 peoples account for the loyalty count, as we had problems last time and all the tickets ended up under one persons name.

I am guessing it may just be easier to forget it and just keep going from now.

    Cheers
