lcd tv near a radiator, problem?

Hey, got a new TV, the only place in my room where it really fits at the moment is infront of a radiator. The manual recommends that you dont put it near or above any radiators. Theres about half a foot between the back of the TV and the radiator.

Has anyone ever had any issues or experience with this?

I`d reccomend not getting the screen near a heat source like a rad or direct sunlight.

Electronic hardware isnt designed to be actively heated like that, and will cause issues, hence the warning in the manual.

Either you turned all 15 on at the same time, you have very bad memory loss, or your a little bit dim?

Surely maybe after 3-5 monitors dying in the same condition you might have stopped to think ohhh its that radiator thats killing them ... not go and try the same again another 10 times?

On an extra note when my computer room was the other way around my lc screen was directly above the radiator, used it this way for a about 2 years without problems

I never turn my radiator on. I have 2 CRT's, my pc, amp, mixer and some other shizz, all above/next to the radiotor.

It's a shame really, It's the only convenient place in the room

They shouldnt be put infront of a radiator but if your not going to turn the rad on then it makes no difference obviously.

No - you completely misunderstand - monitors are scared of radiators - they have ridges and everything
