1. Guild Wars
Guild Wars is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) series developed by ArenaNet and published by NCSOFT. The games were critically well received and won many editor's choice awards, as well as awards such as Best Value, Best Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG), and Best Game. Guild Wars was noted for being one of the few commercially developed games in the MMORPG genre to offer online play without subscription fees, its instanced approach to MMORPG play, and the quality of the graphics and play for computers with low specifications. In April 2009, NCSoft announced that 6 million units of games in the Guild Wars series had been sold. The sequel, Guild Wars 2, was announced in March 2007 and released on August 28 2012. It features updated graphics and gameplay mechanics, and continues the original Guild Wars tradition of no subscription fees.

2. Gun Bound
GunBound is a free-to-play, turn-based, room-to-room, multiplayer online game with many similar features to the popular Worms game series.
GunBound was developed and is maintained by South Korean developer Softnyx. It is currently in its third major release, subtitled Season 2 internationally. It was called GunBound Revolution in North America with ijji as its host before it was shut down on July 24, 2009. The first major beta release was Thor's Hammer.

3. Heroes of Three Kingdoms
Heroes of Three (also known as Chi Bi or Red Cliff in China,and Legend of 3 Kingdoms in Indonesia) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in ancient China during the fall of the Han Dynasty. The game, developed by Perfect World, offers free-to-play, no subscription-based game play, and entered Open Beta status on October 16, 2009. The North American version, entitled Heroes of Three Kingdoms,was announced on April 12, 2010 by Perfect World Entertainment, the US subsidiary of Perfect World Co. Heroes of Three Kingdoms entered Closed Beta on July 13, 2010.

The closure of the North American version of the game was announced on September 29, 2011.[citation needed] The game closed on November 1, 2011, and the forums and website were removed at the same time,[citation needed] making that act the fastest response time for any service pwi performed on the game. Lack of customer support, as well as player abuse of glitches to cheat gameplay, remain the legacy of the game's downfall. Cubizone no longer includes Chi Bi in its game list.

4. Iris Online
Iris Online is a gypsy-themed fantasy MMORPG developed by Eyasoft, makers of Luna Plus and Titan Online and published by Gala-Net, publishers of worldwide sensational MMORPGs such as Flyff and Rappelz. With over 1000 quests , 22 themed instance dungeons , and an intricate Tarot Card system, Iris Online is a full feature MMORPG rich in both PvE and PvP action. The cute anime-pop graphics and gorgeously realized 3D environments make Iris unique, with a look and feel all its own.

5. Jade of Dynasty
Jade Dynasty (also known as Zhu Xian) is a free-to-play MMORPG game created by Perfect World. Jade Dynasty recently released its fifth major expansion, Jade Dynasty: Regenesis. It is based on a popular Chinese internet novel called Zhu Xian.

6. Kal Online
Kal Online is an MMORPG created by the Korean company Inixsoft in February 2004. The player is given a choice of characters of different classes, their appearance customisable. The player can customize various attributes of their character as they progress throughout the game.

7. Atlantica Online

Atlantica Online is a free-to-play (F2P) 3D tactical massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by NDOORS Corporation. The game's primary setting is a fantasy-themed alternate history Earth composed of a diverse blend of historical, cultural, allegorical, and mythological elements. The game world is primarily modeled after real-world geography with accessible locations on six of the seven continents as well as the mythical floating continent of Atlantis from which the game's name is derived.
